Hello! I’m an incoming pre-med student and I’ve been accepted to both McGill’s Anatomy and Cell Biology program, and Queen’s Health Science program. I’ve been having difficulties choosing between the two because I love the Queen’s program, but I really dislike the idea of being in Kingston, ON and the general student body atmosphere. However, I still like the program at McGill, but I’m not as informed on it. As well, I deeply love Montreal and the people there. Any opinions/advice is welcome, what would you recommend as a pre-med student?

Salut!

Merci beaucoup!

I'm finishing my BComm in marketing this academic year and am planning on taking all mcat/med school prereqs the following year. I am considering completing these courses at cegep level— reason being that my current university tends to split up the lab and theory component of a class to be taken in separate semesters plus the level of difficulty is likely greater at university level. I know a few med students who obtained bachelors in degrees outside of science, went back to cegep to complete their prereqs and ended up attending Montreal-based medical schools (i know McGill, University of Montreal and a few other Quebec med schools will accept cegep courses from an undergrad applicant) but I'm not sure if other Canadian medical schools and US medical schools would as well...I know I could call up each one individually and ask but...If anyone has a general idea of the answer to this question, that would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know what the minimum competitive GPA is to get into University of Montreal's Optometry school is? Their website only has the latest year's R-scores. I am a university student who will have more than 60 credits at time of application so my R-score won't count anymore, therefore I'd like an idea of what my GPA should range around! Thanks!

But now i'm reading what you guys wrote here and i'm lost.. haha can i just do my pre-requires and apply as an undergrad at Uottawa? Or do I have to go get a BAC frst? thanks

www.MedsHousing.com Listing #24958 Log onto MedsHousing.com and contact listing as posted: "I’m a med student at McGill and live in a 2-bedroom condo that I love, in the amazing neighbourhood of St-Henri. I’m a 5-min bike ride (15-min walk) from the Glen / Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) / Children’s / Shriner’s. And a 5-min walk from St-Henri metro: great for McGill hospitals including the Jewish and Montreal General Hospitals (MGH, JGH) and St-Mary’s, as well as the CHUM (UdeM) downtown. The building is very close to the the Lachine canal (right behind the large building on the right in the photo, which is the view from your room), to tennis courts and a beautiful park with fountains, grocery stores, and Atwater market. I usually use the second bedroom as a guest room, but I thought it’d be nice to rent it out to a med student or resident from elsewhere from time to time. The room has a Queen bed, a large closet with a dresser inside it (I’ll empty all of this for you) and a small desk – and you can use another desk in the living room too (not in the photo). There’s a washer & dryer in the unit, Internet is unlimited, there’s a terrace on the roof, and a BBQ on my balcony. Looking for a relatively quiet, very clean, gay-friendly non-smoker. Let me know if you have questions, what dates you’re looking for, and a bit about yourself. $930/month includes utilities, renter’s insurance, indoor parking, beddings & towels."

Merci d'avance!
