Hey y'all, I have recently found the desire to pursue medicine in my mid-20s, I am currently an Emergency Department RN and working in this setting, seeing what Physicians do an their expanded scope of practise has given me a strong desire to pursue a career in medicine. However, during my undergrad I was not focused on this, I had a full time job as well as the demands of nursing school so my cGPA was around a 3.38 (Best two years were not great either, did not break 3.6). So that being said I have been considering a second degree, however I don't want to do a degree just for the sake o

Hello! I didn’t find any posts about the current application cycle and I am wondering if anyone wants to chat while we wait for the offers/rejections to come out (on the website it says up until May 15th?). The wait is killing me! How did you find the MMI? I personally was so nervous for the first station that I felt my entire body get hot and pretty sure I turned bright red . Hard to get a read on how the other stations went.

Hi I'm a U of M nursing student who's graduating next semester. I'm looking into PA program recently and found out the GPA cutoff are usually around 3.7-4.0/4.5.. I had 3.8 GPA before starting nursing and many of you already aware faculty of nursing does modified GPA where 95%+ is considered A+ ,85%+ is A and so on.. compared to 90+ as A+ in other faculties. After 4 years of that, my last 60 credits of GPA (unfortunately all from nursing faculty) dropped to 3.2.. I know they take other things into account like letter of recommendation and EC. I am doing my senior practi

Starting this forum for anyone with questions... And I guess I'll start it off: Is anyone else having problems logging into mosaic? I've tried for 2 months now and the page just won't load. I've tried on multiple devices and web browsers (FireFox and Safari). Is there a problem with the server?? Thanks

Hello everyone! I am a third year Biochem student studying at Uni of Ottawa and I just recently learned about the PA program and the more I read about becoming a PA the more I fall in love! However I just want opinions on my chances of getting into U of T and McMaster for the PA program. Currently my gpa is 3.6/4.0, however my main experience has been working in a Cancer Research Lab (as a research assistant) since Summer 2016 until present(I was working part time in this lab as I was studying full time this year). Considering I do not have the 910 hours in healthcare required for U of T t

Hi, I am currently a first year student and I am interested in going to PA school in the future. I am currently taking an English class and we have an upcoming paper due where we are required interview a person who is currently in the profession we intend to explore. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in being interviewed about the PA profession for my essay. The interview will be a set list of questions regarding the career of a physician assistant. This interview can take place through e-mail or just through this forum. Listed below I have included the questions: 1. what do y

Okay, I realize this topic has its own board, but that board gets like no traffic at all. So I am a year into my second degree (nursing) and have come to realize that Med school just isn't going to happen for me. I'm not upset, or giving up, I just don't see myself doing that much more school or caring about it enough to survive it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I would definitely still like to be a health care provider though, and am enjoying my nursing classes (well most of them anyways:P). I am interested in applying to the PA or NP programs at UofT after I work for a couple years as an RN and get the requi

I'm applying to the PA program at University of Manitoba and was wondering how much detail people have gone into for their essay. For example, for what you'd like to accomplish in 10 years did you discuss personal ones (like having/starting a family) or did you stick strictly with career related ones? I've never written a letter of intent before, and given that it has a 1000 word limit, I'd appreciate anyone's advice or recommendations on how to approach it. Thanks.

Hi I am completing my undergrad in Canada specifically York University. I would like to apply to American PA schools, but does anyone have any sort of list that accepts Canadians? Also, if there are Canadians in the US studying to become a PA, can you list ways you completed direct patient hours?

What are my chances of getting into PA at the University of Manitoba? My gpa for the lat two years is 3.63 on the 4.0 scale and I took a full couse load both years. I have really good extracurricular activities but I am very nervous about my gpa. Also, is it true that U of M only takes 12 people a year?!?! If that's the case, it's more competitive than medicine, which makes no sense.
