I'm an Ontario high school student and I've been debating between McMaster and Western for my undergraduate studies as a pre-dental student. A major factor for me is cost, which in this case McMaster looks to be the better option. However, I was wondering if it was worth the extra money to go to Western that already has a dental school and potentially better pre-dental resources (ex. volunteering, outreach programs)? Would I be able to find as many clinical/research opportunities related to dentistry better at McMaster?

Hello, I am a Canadian student planning to apply to the US. I have around a 3.5 GPA, taking my DAT next November so hoping to get at least 20+, and I have extensive amount of extracurriculars and shadowing experience. Honestly, my extras are amazing. I started 2 university clubs catering towards the healthcare field, I am on the pre-dental committee, I started an organization that connects young entrepreneurs to attract mentorship opportunities in my community, I have been working as a pharmacy technician for 3 years, and I have around 500+ shadowing hours at 2 dentists and an

I know I will not make it into Canadian dental schools due to the rough first year I had (due to major illness). I am a music major currently in my second year. My first year GPA was 2.4 (like I said, I was very sick), but first semester of this year, it was 3.3, which bumped my CGPA up to 2.74. I am hoping to bump it up even further by taking intersession courses this summer and working really hard for the rest of my undergrad. I am looking at US schools as a plan B. I was wondering if anyone has any info on Canadian friendly schools that may be options for me. I am hoping that my diverse

To obtain my biology major and to graduate this year, I have to take either a heredity course or a molecular genetics course but the problem with that is that it conflicts with another required course for biology majors. Other local universities offer this course but the scheduling also conflicts so the only solution to this problem is to take it online but it HAS to have some sort of a laboratory component (online or in person but it has to be local). I have had no luck finding any of the online classes that have online labs so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

hi guys, was wondering what my chances are of getting into any dental schools in the states with my current gpa and what schools i should apply to.So i graduated from a Canadian university with an average of ~70% (i know it's low ): ). I am currently finishing a dental hygiene program and was wondering if that would help me with my dental application (would dental schools look at that??). I am also doing two extra fourth year level undergrad science courses (getting an 80+ right now). I have some dental experiences and I will be doing my DAT by the end of the year. What are my chances of getti

Hi everyone! I am starting this thread because we should be hearing from McGill about interviews pretty soon. From previous threads, applicants have heard back around Jan 21st, and admissions said they should send them out before Jan. 26 so basically, we should hear from this by the end of the week. Please post below if you were accepted or rejected, IP or OOP, GPA and hours of volunteer/extra-curricular work Good luck to everyone!

I am a student majoring in mbb in undergrad, planning to go to dental school after graduation from undergrad. My school does not have any programs or connections to dentistry. (neither undergrad or grad) I really do not have a chance to participate in any of dentistry related experiences. (neither practicum or research available) Peers around me cannot help me with such matter either. But I see that other pre-dental students have already had so many experiences like job shadowing/volunteering/working at dental clinics or hospitals and I am just a student who have spent most of my uni

I've looked at a billion forums and discussions online, checked the university statistics but I want someone to give me the reality check. I'm majoring in Biochemistry (honors program) at a canadian university. I'll be applying to american and canadian dental schools next year. And my cumulative average is 81.55% and major average is 82.22%. Given that I do well on the DAT and that I will be doing my thesis this year, I'll probably be doing some dental shadowing, do I have a chance? I know other factors count but I need to know my chances based solely on the information provided.
