Hello! I'm VERY interested in applying for the DMD program at UBC and have a few questions about admissions. A bit of background on me... I completed an undergrad degree in Business with a 3.2 GPA. I have yet to take the pre-reqs for the DMD program at UBC, as well as write the DAT and CASPER test before applying for the program. After my experiences I realized that dental is what I want to do and I'm aiming to complete the pre-reqs with good grades and complete the DAT and CASPER with high marks. I'm afraid that with my 3.2 undergrad GPA I have no chances of getting into the p

Congratulations to all those who received interviews! I was wondering if any had good online resources for both questions for the classic MMI and the written essay component. I know some of the Facebook groups have test bank questions, but I figured we could consolidate these questions into one location.

Over this winter break, I'll be taking some time to prepare for (hopefully) some IIs coming in late January and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for common interview questions to have answers prepared beforehand. Thank you! Happy holidays!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this website and this is my very first post here. I would just like to ask if anyone has taken a Gap year before they applied to Medical School (more specifically but not limited to, the University of Manitoba). I'm currently a sophomore student and my GPA is not very strong at the moment and I have yet to take the MCAT but I figured that I could just do it during my Gap year if I do decide to take it. I know that they (the UofM) do adjusted gpa but even if my gpa is adjusted, I am really not confident that it will be competitive enough... In fact, I think that b

Hi guys! I had a few questions about the MPI format at UofT. I am aware that each station will last for ~10 mins, does this mean that there will be 10 mins per question or does each station have multiple questions? If it's the latter, how long would you guys typically spend on a "why medicine" question? I typically find myself talking for around 4 mins for every question, however, ethical questions typically take me longer since I usually go over the point of view of each side then give my opinion. Am I taking too long?

I have interviewed at UBC and read a lot about how the MMI is conducted in general and at other schools like Mac, UBC, Calgary, but I cant find much info on what to expect from the Queens interview. Specifically, what kind of prompts do they like to ask in the MMI and what kind of questions does the panel throw at you (personal, ethical, etc.)? Any advice on this and/or how to prepare is much appreciated!

Hi guys! Presently working on answering the two questions previewed on ORPAS's site; as part of the application to a number of OT schools in Ontario. Both questions have a 5000 charter limit. One of these questions reads, "Demonstrate your understanding of the profession of OT by identifying 2 current or emerging trends in Canada's healthcare system and discussing how occupational therapists are well positioned to play a leadership role on healthcare teams." -Are people using academic references? -How long are most people's response? -Thoughts about level of detail? -Additional

Hello everyone, I was wondering if you guys purchased the question bundle from AAMC. I have heard that it may contain questions from old MCATs [which may even make it unsuitable for the new MCAT]. How helpful [if you got the bundle] do/did you find the bundle in your MCAT prep? What other materials do/did you use to prepare for the 2015 MCAT [and wether or not you purchased any practice full length exams]? <<< Thanks a lot for any contribution. I hope this thread will be helpful for people starting this new wave of MCAT exams, not knowing what resources to use to prepare them

Does anyone have any advice on how to answer MCAT science based passages? They are so lengthy filled with crazy scientific vocabulary and I am really struggling with answering them. Any techniques or methods that anyone could share? Thanks

Hello. I'm studying from the toronto notes for my final exam which is in 2 days already somebody gave me multiple choice questions with one correct answer. I think these questions are for the 2011 toronto notes or 2008. I'm not sure. They are about 400 questions in total and are seperated for each subject. Does anybody know if there are also mcq for the 2014 toronto notes or any other questions because from old exams from the previous years i found a few questions but some others i couldnt find in that version that i have. I would REALLY REALLY appreciate if somebody can help me. Thanks i

Some of you have read my post before about my interview to volunteer at a hospital. I asked about possible questions, and that really helped. I now have a general question, and that is, of whoever has volunteered at a hospital, what were your experiences like: 1) Is there anything that really stands out to you in terms of a negative/positive experience? 2) What kind of duties do volunteers have? 3) To what extent are volunteers involved with patients/doctors? 4) Conflicts? 5) Teamwork/Collaboration? These are just prompts to get your mental cogs going. Say whatever you like,

:)Hello Pre-Meds! Let me introduce myself: I am a first year Ontario medical student who was in your very position last year, I recall my own anxiousness and confusion when I was in your position which is why I am writing this today. Last year I always wanted to have someone to ask questions to - whether it be about my application, what medical school is like, or what interviews were like. So, I am making myself available to answer your questions via email (not over the website simply because email is easier for me)! I do have experience interviewing in both MMI and panel interview style
