When I scrolled through the R score requirements for McGill, it shows Core R score math/science. Does that mean the average of the r score of maths and science subjects must be equal to x amount? For example, the core r score math/science for bioengineering was 34.3 for 2020. Does that mean I need at least 34.3 for EVERY math/science subject of EACH semester or is it the average of the math/science subjects of the first 3 semesters? https://www.mcgill.ca/undergraduate-admissions/apply/requirements/quebec

Hey! I’m currently a second semester science student at Marianopolis who is unsure of what to do to get into Med-p. I knew that I love science but I didn’t know if a career in med or engineering would fit me so I decided to go for pure and applied because I can take organic chem and bio 2. I took bio 1 and honesty that was the best class ever and now I’m really interested in med. I have an r score in the high 35 so idk if that’s good enough since last year the average was 37!

Hi, I'm currently a Sec 5 student in a French High school and it is time for me to make an important decision : choose the right cegep for me. I'm hesitating between 2 CEGEPs which are Bdeb and Vanier. As a student, I have an overall average above 90s, and I really want to enter medschool at McGill. However, it is easier said than done. To make it happen, I need to work really hard during the 2 years at CEGEP and so I am being careful about choosing the right one for me. What I'm looking for in CEGEP is a great experience, an environment in which I'm productive and students that are serious and focused on their studies. I find it motivating to have around me people that make a lot of effort to reach their goals. Also, both CEGEPs are close to where I live, so the distance doesn't really matter. The language does matter because according to my parents, it's better for me to switch from French to English during CEGEP than during University. Nevertheless, I cannot simply choose a CEGEP because of its language. According to your experiences or what you heard about these CEGEPs, which one would be the right one for me? Thank you

Hi, I found myself in a very particular situation. I will explain as far as I could: This Januay I'm going to be on my first session of health science in cegep. Because I already did some of the classes back in morocco they decided to accredit/consider them passed. Those are French and Philosophy classes, codes respectively: 601-101-MQ and 340-101-MQ. My questions are: Could this affect my recruitment to some of the selective programs? Will I have the same norms of selection to those who did these courses on cegep ? Will the jury's refer only to my R score? I'm wondering because these programs won't count on my R score. Thanks for taking the time to read my post :). Sincerely

Hello, I am not sure when would be a good time to take the DAT. Here's my situation: I just graduated from CEGEP, and I didn't take the DAT before as I didn't think I had a great chance at getting into dental school because of my R score (32.5, at the time. My R score is now 33) and my below average CV (some volunteering abroad, some non-related work experience, some school clubs, non-impressive awards, no research/pubs). I also didn't have time to study the summer between my 1st and 2nd year of cegep, as I had worked 90 hours/week. I applied to McGill Dent-P but obviously didn't get in. My R score is now better (33, during my 4th semester I had a 34.95), and I plan to improve my CRU with my university GPA. My CV is also a bit better. Here are my questions: 1. The requirements for different universities are very confusing and honestly, I'm having an extremely hard time finding them out. Which francophone universities accept students en-cours de bac, and what are the CRU requirements? 2. When should I take the DAT? I haven't started studying, and I know I wouldn't feel prepared unless I studied 3-4 months so I don't feel great about taking it in September (I would likely be prepared in 1-2 months, but I wouldn't feel calm/confident. And stress strongly affects my results). I'm also working full-time and therefore don't have as many hours in a day to study for the DAT. I also really don't remember a lot of the basic bio, chem, etc. and so it would probably be quite difficult for me to study the material as I would have to learn everything again. Would I be able to take it in February and still have the results in time to apply to francophone universities as a candidat universitaire en cours de bac? Thank you for taking the time to read this! I really appreciate all answers.
