  6. Title pretty much says it all. I'm a MS1 at Schulich, and last year I made a website with all my MCAT resources and all my interview resources too. I'm guessing if you're reading this you've already done the MCAT, but you might find my interview prep materials useful. You can find it all here - https://ultimatepremedpackage.ca/interviewing/ Please let me know if you have any questions! Of course, I can't tell you what questions they asked me, etc., but I can give general information about the day or whatever. I might see some of you for your interview day, but if not - good luck! You'll do great!

  10. For anyone else out there who obsesses over numbers, I did some statistics based on a 3-year average (2015-2017), with numbers plucked from the official dean's reports (2015) (2016) (2017). Every year on average, there are: 2,577 total applicants ... (2,473 + 2,775 + 2,483) / 3 449 candidates invited to interview ... (457 + 441 + 449) / 3) 171 seats filled (133 in London, 38 in Windsor) - this has been the same for the last 3 years. A first year class with a demograph of 58.3% male and 41.7% female ... Males: (61 + 59 + 55) / 3 ... Females: (39 + 41 + 45) / 3 17.4% of all applicants get an interview ... (449/2,577)*100 6.6% of all applicants get a seat ... (171/2,577) * 100 38.1% of interviewees get a seat ... (171/449) * 100 NOTE: These statistics do not consider waitlist movement, which can actually be huge in some years (e.g. the 2017 Dean's reports suggest that, for applicants from SW Ontario alone, 72 were offered acceptance into the program, while only 42 of those accepted the offer - that's a waitlist movement of 30 people!) Feel free to check the math, add anything I missed, or discuss below.
  11. I am an OOP applicant for Western Schulich dental school What are my chances?? Has anyone been interviewed with such stats? I have a pretty good amount of EC's as well. I have tried to look at every thread, but I am still very unsure.

  13. Hey guys, Hope everyone is doing just fine with the new OMSAS applications. I myself am yet to write the MCAT this coming September... Speaking of which, I was wondering if any of you guys could possibly shed some light on if/when Western might announce their new MCAT cut-offs for this upcoming cycle ?! The current thresholds are seriouly killing... at least in part for Non-SWOMEN applicants like myself.... Any input is highly appreciated
  14. Hi all, im experiencing a really desperate situation. I'm recently admitted to schulich dental off the waitlist but it seems that I'm unable to meet the deadline for submitting police information checks and the vulnerable sector screening because of the processing time of my local police station. I have emailed the admission to explain this situation and they insisted the deadline to be met under whatever circumstances. The expedited services or online service is not available for vulnerable sector screening which is the major issue. From the sound of it, it looks like I'm gonna lose my entry due to this documentation??? I cannot understand it because it doesn't seem to be my fault--- I was offered admission later. Now I know that I should have applied for it before offer reached. But no matter how much I have explained (eg. used a check that I applied 6months ago for now and supplement the newer one later, they rejected as well) they insisted the deadline. Have anyone experienced similar situation? Accepted off the waitlist late and cannot meet the deadline for police checks? What did they do for you? Am I really gonna lose my spot for this? Thank you all for help.
  15. Hi friends, For those who received an interview, what do you make of the half hour online component post-interview? Is this going to be some sort of CASPer-esque test? Reading comprehension à la CARS? Is this the first year they are doing it? A very sincere congratulations to those who got interviews! And for those who weren't lucky with Western, don't lose hope!!! Take it from someone with fairly average stats.
  16. LONDON, Ontario-CANADA Single room with private bath 109 Windsor Avenue, London, ON, Canada Read this new review: Kristina-stayed for an elective Sept: "Great place to stay! Stuart and Justine are super friendly and accommodating - really went above and beyond to help get me situated in London! " Listing ID #0005924 www.MedsHousing.com This is a room for rent in a nice bungalow in the Wortley Village (Old South) neighbourhood of London, owned by my girlfriend and I. There is space for a car in our driveway if you drive and lots of clean common space to share. I am a 1st year medical student at Western, and my girlfriend works is a youth worker at CPRI. We also have a lovely dog who is quiet and playful, he loves people and is pretty easy to get along with, but just so you know, we do have a furry friend in our home! It is a short walk to Wortley Village, with some nice coffee shops and some good restaurants. A beautiful quiet neighbourhood to walk around and lots of friendly people.
