  1. Hi everyone, I am currently a hospital pharmacist and have completed a clinical pharmacy residency. This was a year long program that included about 8 different clinical rotations (ie. emerg, ICU, psychiatry etc) usually x 4 weeks each. My question is, what would be the best way to enter this? I could do it as a single entry (2500+ hours) or break it down into 8ish different entries (ie. emerg rotation x 250hr etc). Any advice or input would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
  2. Hey guys, just nit-picking my app at this point, hope everyone's not finding it as stressful as I am haha. I had a quick question regarding activities that I had done up to, and after, 16. I have played several different sports for as long as I can remember, however I had to quit most of them to focus on school and for other reasons in Gr. 11. If I list my starting year for these activities from the age of 16, it would appear as though I only played them for a year, instead of, well, many. Would it be a red flag to put my start date for this activity at like the age of 7? Or should I
  3. Hello, I jsut need a bit of help for the autobiographical sketch. Should I seperate my cv by sections (volunteer, work, research, etc) and for each section, put the most recent experience? For ex. 1) work experiences (most recent to less recent) 2) Volunteer (most recent to less recent) Etc. Thank you
  4. There is such limited space in the sketch to write about your responsibilities. Do you just write a line summarizing everything? There is no room to say what you even gained from the experience. Also, how many sketches are appropriate? Should you just list your most meaningful experiences or pretty much everything you did even if you volunteered at an annual marathon for 3 hours every year? haha.
  5. Are you guys including the dollar amounts of your awards in the ABS? If yes, where are you guys writing it?
  6. A few questions about the sketch: 1) Is it bad to use acronyms? The "description" character count is too small for almost everything 2) I have a late birthday, so a lot of the activities I started in grade 11 were technically started when I was 15. Do I therefore make the start date my 16th birthday, or September? 3) Can I use peers as verifiers? Many of my extracirricular activities (ex. tutoring) don't have an actual supervisor. Thanks for the help!!
  7. Hi all! I know there have been a few threads on how many items people had in their sketches for OMSAS and I have gone through the threads on this pretty thoroughly. I also see there was a poll on this but my poll is specifically for those who were accepted either outright or off a waitlist, not for all who applied. Mods, if I've somehow missed a poll like this that is specific for accepted applicants, please feel free to let me know or remove this. I think this will hopefully be beneficial for others who are applying to get a sense of what the breakdown is for those who are accepted to an
  8. Hey guys, new poster here! I'm just curious to know how other people interpret the word 'anticipate' as used in a context similar to the sentence below: 'Anticipating a career in medicine, I realize that sometimes I will have to make difficult choices' Though anticipating, by dictionary definition, includes both the meanings 'expecting' (which would sound kind of cocky here) and 'looking forward to' (which is closer to the intended meaning), I just want to see how most people (and by extension, ad coms) reading this might instinctively interpret it. Thoughts?
