Hi everyone, This is my first time here on Premed 101 Forums. I'm a Canadian premed student who has been very concerned for the health and safety of examinees like myself who have and will be writing the MCAT during a pandemic. Our fellow peers who are immunocompromised are at a greater risk, however they have no choice but to put their lives at risk by writing the MCAT during these time. I myself am mainly worried about the health of an immediate family member with whom I live. The AAMC has not been cooperative enough to add more test dates in September or any in October, or to allow the

Since the early application deadline is coming up, thought I would ask how interviews are scheduled at UBC. For in person interviews, what are the possible time slots applicants get to choose from? It would be nice to know since I might have to travel and stay overnight. If the interviews are conducted virtually, do we just talk to a webcam and record our answers or will we be able to interact with an interviewer?

I wrote the MCAT 2 years ago and scored at 508 (all sections above 124, with 126 in CARS) and Im trying to decide if I should attempt to re-write it this summer. I'm worried about doing worse, as I would only have between now and mid-August to prepare (and I work full-time). For UBC, is it possible to become ineligible? If say, I got an overall score that was higher, but one section had below 124? Any insight into how they look at it if you do worse? Apparently you have to release all MCAT scores to UBC. Or if you have at least one MCAT that meets their requirements (all sections above

Hello! I used to roam these forums when I was a pre-med student quite often. I remember not having a mentor to ask regarding medical school and the process of applying. The forum became my haven for knowledge and resources. I finished residency over a year ago now, currently practicing, and I feel I should extend the offer to help anyone needing guidance and mentoring regarding their application or just about medical school in general. I wish I knew more about the process of medical school and residency before I applied. I went to UBC for medical school, but was accepted to Alberta a

Since then I have worked a at a major hospital and finished my critical care post grad certificate/diploma (not sure if they look at GPA from that but I achieved 90%). I currently work (FT) on a specialized intensive care unit. During Nursing school I had an focus of interest in Public Health, specifically with the DTES (Downtown Eastside) population of Vancouver.
