Hey guys So currently, I've completed high school, moving on to McMaster university in the fall. I'm going into the chemical and physical sciences, hoping to major in medical physics. I've already picked out my courses for first year, which includes physics, chemistry, biology, and calculus courses. I'm a little concerned about taking the MCAT because I know that I will struggle with the critical reasoning and psychology (and sociology etc) portions. So I was wondering, is it too early to prepare for those sections this summer? I plan on applying to most med schools by 3rd

Hey guys, I really need some help/tips/advice. Ok so, I wrote the MCAT this september, and I did pretty bad. Now with the sciences, I think I can prepare that on my own, but I really need help with the CARS section. My situation: I got 125 in the CARS section. I will be writing the MCAT again in August of next year. I have 1 year essentially, (I am also doing university this year, full-time; but I will also have the 4 months of summer to essentially work on the MCAT). How should I practice/prepare for the CARS, to make it 128+? Should I be reading a lot? What should I read? Should I

Was this passage on typhoid Mary complete bs or what? Contrary to popular belief I'm starting to think more and more that EK is really not that great. I completed OG CARS passages and scored around 90%. When doing further practice with EK... I'm scoring around 70%.. anyone feel the same way ?

Hey guys, so I just started going through the passages in this book and I'm wondering what the general consensus is regarding the quality? I did an extensive search and there isn't too much info on it. If anyone is also using this book for practice we can discuss some answers which the book doesn't cover very well! Would appreciate if anyone who practiced using NS 108 and subsequently wrote the MCAT could give some input. I've also been mixing in TPR Verbal workbook, EK101 and all past AAMC CBTs. Although most people advise to always practice under timed conditions, I feel timing sho

Hi, This is my first time posting here so I'm not too sure if this is in the correct forum to post this. I was just wondering how an MCAT score of 14/9/15 would fare on applications Canadian med schools. My parents are pushing me to redo it because of my low verbal score, however I'm reluctant to give up my physics and bio sections and I also don't really want to try the new MCAT format. The low verbal score severely damages my chances at schools like Western, Queens, Calgary and McMaster so I'm not really sure what to do. I wanted to know what you guys think about this uneven score

So I took the MCAT and got a 33 (11/10/12) and am considering writing it again in a week to see if bumping my verbal up to an 11 for Western but I know a ton of people who have re-written and fallen below the cutoffs (for schools like UofT). From people who have had similar experiences is it worth the risk??

Hey guys, So i'm writing my MCAT for the second time on September 6th. I got 31 (12/9/10) last time (september 2013) and decided to rewrite. I'm current scoring much higher on all Practice tests and generally feel more confident. I'm currently averaging 35, with a range of only +/- 1. My average per section so far is as follows: Ps: 13-15 VR: 9-10 BS: 11-13? What worries me is my VR which i can't seem to consistently get 10+. The original reason for my retake was to boost my VR but now i'm scared that might not happen. My question is, if I score a 36 with a 14/9/13, does that co
