Having trouble finding place to discuss issues

Recommended Posts

To try and become more informed with Canadian news, I've been reading up on some current issues taking place, but the problem is that I don't have anyone to discuss these with. I've looked around online but most websites seem to be full of trolls rather than people actually interested in discussion. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

I personally don't engage in much discourse online on current issues/affairs, but I find reading editorials and opinion pieces helpful on top of reading just the news. Editorials and opinion pieces give you different slants at looking at a topic that you otherwise may not be aware of, but you need to be cognizant of biases.. you'll catch on as you read more editorials and the way some columnists write. But the main part is to understand differing viewpoints and then coming up with your own perspective on the issue.

Otherwise, I think you can try Meetup and see if there are discussion groups in your area?
