How to make Alumni Email??

Has anyone figured out how to make the alumni email... I'm following the instructions, but it seems like the website isn't working properly.

You are correct, the instructions do not make sense/do not work.

I called IT for them to explain it. I did it last week so hopefully my memory serves me correctly. Here is how you to it.

1. You need to first make a CWL (https://activate.id.ubc.ca/iamweb/).

2. Go through the steps until you reach password. Your password is your birthday (format YYMMDD).

Does everyone have their UBC ID? 
I haven't been given my UBC ID yet (on the bottom of the application status page, it's still blank) so I cant move forward along the orientation checklist and do tasks like make my alumni e-mail.

I got mine on Friday and I received an email last Wednesday saying that my student number was going to be given in the next few days. Have you received any emails like that? They also said that people would receive their student numbers at different points. The personal information form is due July 3 so I would message them about your student number if you don't hear anything by the end of the week!

Does anyone know how to make a physical email inbox for the alumni email (instead of just having it as a forwarding service)?

I'm also confused about how to have a physical email inbox! It says on the help page to "Select "Use a UBC Hosted Mailbox" to create and deliver all email to a UBC hosted mailbox", but I don't see this option anywhere?

Yes, does anyone know how or when we will be able to set our Alumni email as a UBC Hosted Mailbox? Does this happen later in the summer?

Head over to https://id.ubc.ca, login with your CWL and you should be able to choose between a forwarding service and using it as a UBC hosted mailbox. If you select using it as a UBC mailbox, you can view your inbox by going to https://webmail.alumni.ubc.ca

If this option still isn't available to you, then the UBC hosted mailbox might not be active yet. If you're new to UBC, give it a few weeks; otherwise, contact IT and they should be able to sort it out for you!
