zackattack881
Hi everyone!! I am a student from uOttawa and I would just like to know my chances for the Queen's medical school. I have made a post similar to this one but today I'll go go into more details of my application and would really appreciate your input on it. Here are my stats: Year: Graduated June 2018 with a B.Sc. in biomedical science. wGPA: 3.865 (In province) EC's: Long term volunteering at a hospital since 2015 (~400 hours), research lab volunteer, shadowing a emergency physician in the ER, part-time job, private math tutor in high school, general chemistry teacher assistant volunteer during the summer for the past 3 years for high school students, organic chemistry teacher assistant during uOttawa open house week, awards/dean's list and scholarships, awarded the APUO scholarship, volunteer of the month in the emergency department (sep 2018), competitive dancing for the past 7 years+instructor. Please be honest with me, Thank you all
gangliocytoma
Without knowing your MCAT it's impossible to say. ECs seem good to me. Check to see if your ECs meet the CanMed roles. If you can tick all the boxes, pending a good MCAT score an interview is possible (but never guaranteed).
zackattack881
I am writing the MCAT this summer, I am hoping to do well on it! What would you say is a good score for Queen's?
Kez
No one knows what Queen's cutoffs are exactly, but if you look at the accepted thread they all have around 510 or higher. Your chances are effectively 0% if you don't apply so score well on your test and give the application a go

I had a worse GPA, but a good MCAT and ECs and got in (despite feeling like I bombed the interview). You've got a good shot. Aim for a 129+ in CARS to be safe, and you should get an interview! End Poverty
I had a wGPA close to yours, 96th MCAT percentile ( above 127 in all sections), and good ECs and was accepted So, u definitely have a chance, just do well on your MCAT and you will probably get an interview.
