How necessary is a car for clerkship?

For example, my commute by public transport would be ~30-40 minutes, while driving directly would be ~15 minutes.

I don't really see the need to get a car - especially if I can Uber - I guess the con with this is you'd probably need to call 15 minutes before, but I think you'd save more money over a car.

And there's some benefits of ubering - not having to find a place to park, parking in the parking garage, not having to drive when you're tired, etc.

Thoughts?

This would depend on your academy. You also have another year to think about it since you are only entering second year.
