Definition of death

Was following this the last little while, and a new update just came out as an appeal. Thought I would share. Interested to hear your thoughts. https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2018/07/29/family-appeals-to-keep-woman-on-life-support.html

One line that stood out the most for me: "In a closely-watched court battle last fall, the McKitty family said their Christian faith considers everyone alive as long as their heart beats. Their lawyer, Hugh Scher, argued the doctors discriminated against them by using a medical definition of death."

I think she should be removed form life support, without question. The religious viewpoint should not be taken into consideration here - if that logic were applied everywhere, it would be a mess. Neutrality has to be at the centre of these difficult situations, not emotion.

Condolences to her family.
