Mine is higher than I expected too, for reference it is 0.04 higher than UCalgary's calculation (with the same years/courses considered). I believe it's because Alberta considers A and A+ to both be 4.0. That being said I'm not sure  how exactly they converted my grades because I went to a university that uses percentages.
