blueskyguy
Hi all, I am a Canadian in my second year at a U.S. med school, and I have a couple questions. If I was interested in coming back to Canada for residency, what Canadian exams would I have to write, and when would I have to write them? Being at a U.S. med school, I understand I will have to write the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams, but do any of the Canadian exams I have to write correlate with the U.S. exams? Also, how important are the scores on these Canadian exams for U.S. grads with regards to getting into a Canadian residency? Are they not very important? Thank-you for any information you can provide! Wesmosis
hopefulcanadian
The Canadian Scores are less important but you still need to write your Canadian boards as well(MCCEE and the other ones). Hope that helps. The Canadian exams are close with more pharmacology being the focus of american exams Wesmosis
JohnGrisham
Check the official MCC website. Things have changed. I believe the MCCEE is being phased out. And now just he QE1 will remain. Verify with the primary source.

Eman
You need to write MCCQE1 and NAC and afterwards there are additional exams for some provinces as CAP in BC. Good luck!
