Orangemedicine
Hello friends, I'm a current pharmacy student thinking of switching over and applying to medicine in the winter later this year. How would transitioning into medicine in midst of another professional program look to the admission committee? Would it cast a negative shadow as it may potentially forecast me droping out of medicine to switch into yet another different program some time down the road? Please comment below if you've heard/experienced what I'm going through!
j17f
Be prepared to answer the question why. That’s all you’ll have to worry about. Plenty of people do it.
JohnGrisham
Plenty transfer or finish then apply to medicine. Dont need to worry at all just get good grades and a strong app like everyone else. No one will question a thing.

As far as in know most med programs will consider your grades in graded courses. Its only professional programs like chiropractic where your grades aren't considered since its more vocational. MDhopeful11
I transferred from pharmacy to medicine. No trouble at all - they don't look down at you at all! Just work hard to keep your grades up. The admissions committee are actually happy to see that you're coming from a different healthcare discipline and are interested in learning more about your journey to medicine. It sets you apart and gives you a lot to talk about Good luck!
