Poloma
Hello! I have my final ENGL 211 exam tomorrow for my UBC requirements and my tutor switched halfway thru the course to someone who has been very tough. If I end up getting a lower grade (still passing) can it affect my chances of getting/retaining an offer? Thanks!
Coldery
From the UBC Admissions website: "We evaluate grades from courses taken during the current application cycle only for applicants who receive an offer to the program or who are placed on the waitlist. For applicants who receive an offer, we recalculate the overall GPA or adjusted GPA (if applicable) with the new coursework added in. If the resulting GPA has dropped 5% or more from the overall or adjusted GPA we calculated during our file evaluation in the fall, the Admissions Selection Committee reserves the right to revoke the offer of admission." Source oh shit eh - because all I'm taking this year (graduated already) is online ENG 211 and 255 so this could really hurt me

I doubt one course has the capacity to single handedly bring your grade down more than 5% unless you fail. Poloma

Or am I misunderstanding

Or am I misunderstanding It'll be weighed as heavily as every other 3 credit course you've done. Even two English courses @50% each will only drop your overall grade by ~2.5% assuming an 87% average with 90 credits. Poloma

It was initially Bernard Bloom but changed over to Michael Brisbois! The 255 exam was easier than expected but 211 was tough and definitely worth taking more time to study for
keener12345
Also important to note that they re-calculate ur aGPA, meaning that your english could be one of the dropped ones if u get like 51. Poloma
