Moving from Western Canada to Kingston

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice/experience moving long distances to Kingston. I will be making the move out to Queen's in mid to late-August from out West. I won't be bringing furniture with me. Mostly moving clothes, a few personal items, etc. If anyone has ideas or experience it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey, congrats! I spent the past few years moving around the country, so I understand how stressful it can be. The fact that you're bringing mostly personal items will make it a lot less daunting. My advice is to start organizing your things early, and decide what is absolutely necessary to bring and what you can do without (or what you can buy in Kingston). Most airlines will charge you a reasonable amount for the first 2 checked bags, and a ridiculous amount for 3+ (not to mention what they charge you if your bag is overweight). So plan wisely!

There are also other services available to move your things. Check out:

I also recommend looking into travel rewards credit cards (if you don't have one yet) - this will be handy for those trips back home :)

Also, feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions! Cheers and see you soon!!! =D
