santi_gonzales
Hi everyone! I've been offered a job with a physician to work at a clinic with him in Lindsay, ON. It will be part-time and my job would be to perform patient enrollment interviews, manage the finances, the billing, all the tech and documentation. It's a small clinic, with only 2 other nurses working with us earning $26/hr. What would you say is fair compensation for a role like this? Any words of wisdom? Thank you for your input! - SG
robclem21
You are worth what they are willing to pay you, because there are 1000s of other people with BSc degrees, and your graduate degree doesn't give you expertise in any of the job duties you described. If $26 an hour is what they are offering that is what the job is worth. How they pay you will be up to them, not you. Words of wisdom. If you have no other job offers, take the job. If you don't like it, continue to look for other options while you work there. Also, not sure why this is being posted here...

On the other hand, if you are offered the job and you want to ask for more salary/benefits than there is no harm is asking. Worst case scenario, they say they aren't willing to negotiate. I also agree if you have no other offers, take the job. You can always keep looking for another job. And if the new one pays more you can use that offer to ask for a raise from your current employer. It's business, that's the way it works. You look out for yourself.

Is there enough of a market (for lack of a better word) to support both clinics?
