Graycon22
Hi everyone, I graduated Haskayne with a BComm in Accounting a few years ago. I've always taken an interest in medicine and now I'm wondering if I should look into going back to school. I have 2 questions: 1. Could anyone tell me what the course requirements would be for someone such as myself? I have no science courses under my belt and couldn't find a list of the specific course requirements on the UC MD Program site. 2. Has anyone taken this route from Business (or any non-science related degree) several years after graduating? What has been your experience? Thank you for any insights! freewheeler
Nah dude. You should be a clinic manager, clinic owner, or an accountant specializing in dealing with healthcare professionals instead. You're not missing out on anything by not being in medicine. Your current lifestyle is almost surely manifold better than going through the slog of prereqs + MCAT + applications + interviews + preclerkship + clerkship + residency +/- fellowship(s) +/- graduate degrees to become a practicing physician.
