KittyMD
Anyone else not hear back from MUN OBGYN with an interview date/time? Seeing people post for change requests and I haven’t been given a slot yet. I replied to the email right away with a preferred date and time... Cleanse
Hey guys, how far in advance should we cancel interviews to avoid repercussions, and what are these potential repercussions? Is one week in advance enough time? I'm trying to find someone to exchange interview times with right now but if it doesn't work out, I'd like to leave enough time to cancel without raising any professionalism issues. Pin2020
Does anybody have any sense of what a "one-on-one/one-on-two" interview is? Is it exactly as it sounds; literally just the interviewee and one staff... like the PD for the whole interview? One school I'm interviewing at has this format and I'm really not sure what to expect. Yes it's exactly as it sounds. You and 1-2 staff and/or residents

Just seemed to be a small number of people making the final decision. Though I guess others would have been involved in the screening / interview invite process. usmdthrowaway
Just came off a bunch of US internal med interviews and they give us dinner every time the night before. Should I come to these Carms IM ‘socials’ having eaten first or no? None have explicitly called them dinners.

Some will be at a club, some at a tea house. Ours are at pubs and we provide appetizers to share.

US interviews/socials are a way different beast than CaRMs. CaRms socials vary by speciality, but mostly appetizers if social does exist, not full dinners or sit-down style. US = many programs pay for accommodations/travel/wine+dine Canada = maybe we'll give you some appetizers at a pub style place.

Varies by specialty, but this usually means multiple one-on-one/two stations at the interview if they choose this format over panel

kumquat
Anyone interviewing for emerg familiar with the "problem solving station"? Haven't come across it in past posts but got an email that Western is introducing it this year, lasting 30 minutes. Any ideas on what this could be? heeach
Is it a common thing in the CaRMS that I apply to a program as a CMG that the program does not come back to me AT ALL with any reply, neither interview nor rejection nor a waitlist????
Lactic Folly
I think for most cases I didn't actually receive an official rejection from places where I wasn't offered an interview.... just silence. I suppose this leaves less of a door open for replies/rebuttals/requests. heeach
Lactic Folly
Is it not similar to other experiences one might have with cold-emailing professors or applying for jobs? Lack of response as a non-confrontational way to say "not interested"? Or do you always get an explicit reply?
Cheers2life
emailed CaRMS yesterday for that specific question, i was wondering if we were suppose to email the programs who did not notify on the platform, the guy from CaRMS told me to wait, they are currently emailing all the programs to make sure everybody updates their status as soon as possible!
