mew
There's a grand rounds being held next week on a niche surgical topic that I'm very interested in. I'd be going purely for my own learning, but as I haven't been formally invited by a staff, and I'm not on rotations, I'm not sure if it's against etiquette for me to be there. Would it be odd if I just came by myself as long as I stayed out of the way (ie sat at the back, didn't ask questions, etc)?
JohnGrisham
Sit at back and be quiet, no issue. mew
ellorie
Everyone is way more interested in the free food than in who is there, if it’s anything like the rounds I remember. LostLamb, mew, JohnGrisham and 1 other 3
Lactic Folly
Grand rounds (by their nature) should be open events. I'm sure the organizers would like to see a good turnout if there is a visiting speaker, hence the rounds were advertised and you were aware of them. M&M rounds are the main type of rounds that might be closed. Just bring your medical student ID tag. mew
