Chances for those who moved to northern areas

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just wanted to gauge my chances for NOSM. I was born, raised and attended university in an urban center, but, for the past 7 years I've lived in Northern Alberta, practicing as a pharmacist. I moved here right after my graduation. I was thinking about making the jump to medicine and was considering NOSM as an option. I realize that no one really knows how exactly NOSM calculates the context score. Further, it seems that they really do prefer people who attended high school or were raised in northern communities. So, is it worth it to apply, as an out of province applicant who's lived in the north for 7+ years?

Thanks.
