With living in Toronto, it will probably come close to getting maxed. How long does it take after school to pay it off? Is it super difficult? & how much do new grads typically make? Keep in mind that many of your peers may graduate with little debt, or no debt at all, depending on how much financial help they receive from parents/family. I personally graduated with around 280k in debt (combining OSAP, dental school, cost of living), and I chip away at it with around 10k a month, since my monthly take home is usually around 14-15k. Now, how much you make as a new grad will vary, depending on location, speed, what kind of procedures you do. If you are willing to sacrifice location, you can make a lot as a dentist, anywhere up to 300k a year. If you decide to work in Toronto or the GTA, you will most likely be working part time at multiple offices, with a lower income. Hope that answers your question. Do you mind me asking in what city you work in? What would be considered the "rural" parts of Ontario? What would London area be considered?
