Verifiers contacted again

For those that interviewed this cycle, has anyone had additional verifiers contacted? I had one contacted today and just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat?

Going out on a limb that if you applied you probably are getting in then? Doesn’t make sense to contact verifiers of applicants for scholarship who aren’t going to be accepted. Just my speculation though

No i didnt apply for scholarship, just admission to the program. They were contacted by phone.

Oh, I mean honestly I wouldn’t read into it. They could be dotting some I’s if they do or do not want you. Impossible to tell

My guess is that they want to offer you  a position and your ECs are the main reason why so they are just double verifying them. I've heard of them doing something like this from a  friend but honestly I'm not sure.

Did the verifier that was contacted by phone also happen to be one of your three referees?

Could just be that they want to double check a detail or get more information about your role in the position so they could better assess it. I wouldn't read into it too much, or take it as an obviously negative or positive thing. Likely just a normal part of application review.

Does UBC contact references even after they submit your reference for you in February?
