AB2
was wondering how hard did you find it to get a top grade in a class like physics 2 or something, where there are prereqs like physics 1, cal 2, that you haven't touched in a long time? I am nervous about paying a lot of money to redo a course to end up with not the top grade I want, especially in a condensed summer format. Is getting 87%+ a realistic goal? For reference I completed a sciences DEC with mediocre grades, became a better student since and completed a undergrad in an unrelated discipline with quite good grades. verycaffeinated
I redid a physics course last summer and it was MUCH more challenging when I took the class, the class average was under 60. I honestly don't think that's the norm though and an 87% is definitely attainable in physics as long as you put in the time and effort needed. If anything, you can register for a physics course and gauge the difficulty of the instructor and the material and if you feel like you can't attain the grade that you want, I believe there's a drop period where you can get a refund. whatisgoingon
I want to contrast the above by saying I found it much easier to redo it (redid at couple of Cegeps and Athabasca) as I felt I was more mature and better motivated to address them. My grades were at least 90 in all of them. It's easier when you're more motivated I had very poor grades in CEGEP as well.

How did you guys find the fact that the calculus and physics 1 prereq were not fresh in your memory? I am most worried about the prerequisities to the cegep course being so far in my mind. I would not be able to do an integral right now, thats how far it is.

Phys1 is easy. Where are you taking it?

They’re saying that they need to take phys2 but they took cal and phys1 so long ago that they’re worried phys2 will be harder because they may need to use that prior knowledge from those courses, which they don’t really remember anymore (sorry no advice to offer as I haven’t taken physics yet but I’m following the post out of curiosity lol)

Probably cegep a distance. wanted to take it at a normal CEGEP but all the doors i knocked on shut in my face when i say I'm not in cegep anymore, and cont ed departments are all almost closed for this summer due to corona. Phys1 I'm slightly less worried about due to not needing cal2 and phys1 beforehand to do it, but still cal1 is mostly a distant memory, I've only done some basic derivative calculus through uni

If you're worried about integrals, I wouldn't recommend taking Electricity & Magnetism to fulfill physics 2 since it requires doing some integrals. If you can, do waves and optics, there's way less cal (if any) in my opinion.

Can also consider Athabasca however it is much more pricey. DW you will be moere than fine. That being said again you do not need calculus courses as prerequisites for McGill med. The Basic Phys CEGEP courses should not have a substantial amount of calculus. I didn't have any in mine...
