MCAT scoring and 10 points system

I was wondering how MCAT scores are converted to the 10 point system.

Like for example what MCAT score would convert to a 10/10 score, 9/10, etc.

Given that this year they've changed the MCAT cut-offs so drastically, I don't think anyone here could give you a proper answer.

I'm a first time applicant and I'm not familiar with what they did in previous years. What's so different about this year's MCAT cutoffs?

Dalhousie used to have a 503 and 506 threshold for IP and OOP respectively. Now, the lowest possible MCAT score is 492 (IP). From what I've seen in the accepted/waitlist/rejection sticky, the list provided by @dankmeme in the thread linked below is fairly accurate. 

503-506 = 6/10

507-510=7/10 

511-516=8/10

517-522=9/10

523+=10/10

That said, given the new thresholds, I wouldn't put money on the scoring staying the same.

I guess beggars can't be choosers, but it seems a bit ridiculous to distill the variability in MCAT scores down to brackets like that. Like I get a 525 to a 528 isn't that different, but a 511 vs a 516? Definitely not the same thing.
