Cherry_Blossom
Hi all, I'm a 4th year USMD applying to internal medicine residency, and possibly to fellowships (cardio, heme/onc, or rheum) after. I wanted to know how important it is to be on an H1B vs a J1 visa? I have interviews at more prestigious places that only offer J1 visas, and less prestigious programs with H1B visas. Considering that I will likely be applying for fellowship afterwards (which will also need either H1B or J1 visa), I'm not sure if I should value the prestige of the program (will make it easier for fellowship possibly?) or if I should try for get an H1B visa no matter what.
