COVID-19 Vaccine

Thought it was about time to start a conversation about this, since healthcare professionals will be among the first to receive the vaccine. Anyone concerned about safety issues?

I’m not concerned about safety issues (the ones raised on social media have all been debunked). I am so excited to be able to hopefully get vaccinated soon. The number of patients I’ve seen over the past couple of months who are “long haulers” or having serious long-term health issues following covid is so sad and scary. I truly hope enough people will be vaccinated that our case numbers go low and stay low.

There are a lot of malevolent souls out there spreading terror through fake news. It's very safe to trust the FDA's ruling on these vaccines in my opinion. It's the only solution to help minimize the spread and people not getting vaccinated would only make it longer for things to go back to normal or should I say the new normal.

Not my area of expertise.  I'm choosing to trust the expertise of Health Canada and the other physicians with more understanding than I do, and I'll be all over it as soon as they offer it.

I think we need to normalize trusting scientific expertise/experts when we ourselves don't know the answer or don't have the same training.  Not blindly, but more than we as a society do.

I've seen my friends in the US start to get it (nurses in a major medical city) and I'm super jealous.
