Are you a student who faces economic, geographic, cultural or multifactorial barriers to accessing education?

MD AIDE, supported by the FoMD at the University of Alberta, is an initiative aimed at providing free MCAT tutoring and medical student mentorship for students from historically underrepresented and underprivileged backgrounds. This includes but is not limited to students who are Indigenous, students from rural areas, students identifying as LGBTQ2+ and students from BIPOC backgrounds. Students will also have access to a network of medical student mentors. MCAT tutoring sessions will run in the evenings for two days a week from May 2021 - August 2021. We ask interested applicants who are writing the MCAT this summer to please book an exam date in August. Students from any post-secondary background are eligible.

A really good program and I remember it well when it first began. I only wish I could have helped more back when I was a medical student.

This sounds great but I'm sad I didn't know about this. I checked my emails and this was never sent to me by the UofA. How were students made aware of this program? I only happened to see this post now by random chance.
