Akyvingtneuf
What are the best undergrad programs you would recommend? I’m applying to come to Uottawa this fall but not sure what program would be good with easier course load so that I can score higher GPA and also volunteer and stuff. My end goal is to get into Med School
MDismydream
Tbh you can do anything you're interested into before medschool. It's really up to you. Just make sure you complete the prerequisites! Personally, the only regret I have is not to do nursing instead of health sciences. I have a friend who did it and for Ottawa only your first year count in your GPA for your application since after that you have pass/fail classes. Also you get some clinical experience and you can kinda see if medecine is for you or not. ottawa1234
You'll find a lot of premeds in Biomedical science and health science at uOttawa. The health science program tends to have more group projects and essays while biomedical science has more 3hr labs and difficult prerequisite science courses. My advice is that whatever undergrad program you choose, prioritize your GPA. I wouldn't pursue a nursing program just to get clinical experience. If you have no plans to become a nurse then don't go into the nursing program. Medical school will provide plenty of clinical experience for you. Donald_Duck
GPA GPA GPA Whatever you are more interested in. Biomed was jokes for me and impossible for others. Psychology classes were my lowest grades, highest for others. I hate psychology. Mr Duck
