insomnias
I had a great experience during my core rotation, and I want to do my only family med elective (I'll be going for breadth, not depth) with my core preceptor because they have a CAC in a field that interests me. Would it be a detriment to do an elective with somebody who's already agreed to write a strong letter (i.e. you can only lower their opinion of you, not raise it)? bearded frog
It depends... are you trying to match to a program where they have a strong say and allow you to network with residents staff that will improve your standings for that program? Otherwise if you have a strong letter locked down I would say you "really enjoyed working with them and want more experience in the type of work they do can they recommended/refer you to another preceptor for an elective experience to diversify your exposure?"
