Statistics of last 3 years of matriculants at Mac

Thought I would update with a chart and graphs of the most recent matriculant data Mac publishes. Find it here. Note that is is matriculant data, so not known is casper percentiles or interview performance (or =random() result for the class of 2023 lol). Logically the averages for interview invite will be lower. Data is number of matriculants in each bucket.

Most notable is the rock solid average GPA and CARS for the last 3 years. essentially ~3.88 and 129. Consistently the majority is >3.9 GPA, but the CARS spread is a little more normal, with a notable jump to 130 in 2023 being the most common score, although the mean staying the same due to the long tail.

What does this mean for potential applicants? Find yourself on the charts to see relatively how competitive your Casper and interview will have to be, but clearly any cars or GPA in this range could get an acceptance. Although I would put an asterisk on the very low scores due to some alternative admissions pathways that these might represent, but you never know if that <3.5 GPA had a 132 cars and >90% casper.
