Gifts for references after match

What would be appropriate gifts for physicians who gave reference letters? Flowers? Chocolate? A Pen? 

I have written to them already.

Keep it simple and edible, that can be shared with others. Writing them is thanks enough though.

That was my plan but another colleague is planning flowers and chocolates. This had me thinking... I am not sure if I would want flowers during the pandemic!

That's what I am planning as well.

I did thank-you emails for mine.  I thought about sending something too, but wasn’t sure how that would go with the restrictions and whether their clinics were still functioning the same as when I did my electives with them.
