Applying to Medicine with an Incomplete Masters Degree (UAlberta)???

Hi everyone. I'm currently applying to a Masters Program at the UofA after not getting accepted this semester. I was just wondering, is it possible to apply to Med after only completing 1 year of my Masters program? 

I have heard that the UofA can defer your admission by 1 year to allow you to complete your Masters program. Does anyone have any experience about this?

yes you can but it's on a case by case basis

don't blindside your PI unless you plan to burn all bridges

I am currently in this situation of being half done a MSc at UofA and trying to get approval for concurrent registration. This is super rarely allowed - as I have been trying to sort this out since may. Deferrals do seem to be an option if you are a UofA grad student only. Again, would recommend finishing your MSc first.
