casajayo
I'm wondering if those people who match to peds subspecialties after R3 are able to practice general pediatrics at a later point in time if they choose? Or because you don't finish your R4 year of general pediatrics if your scope of practice is limited to your subspecialty?

Yes they can. They all have to write the general pediatrics royal college, either in R4 or in the first year of fellowship. Soon the option to sub-specialize after R3 is going to go away as well, so everyone will write in R4.

Yes, but it will also transition to CBD, so the lengths may change. You are also spending most of the first year of fellowship studying for royal college anyway so there's some freed up time.
