School specific data

Is it possible to access data regarding how many residency spots for a particular discipline were offered by a specific med school and how many applications were received for those spots?

Thanks in advance.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you would like to know, for instance, how many IM spots were offered at U of T in 2021 and how many people applied for those spots?

The initial quota for each discipline at each school is only recorded in the "program descriptions", of which they archive the previous year. So at https://www.carms.ca/match/r-1-main-residency-match/program-descriptions-archive-first-iteration/ by clicking on "University of Toronto" you can see that 51 CMG and 11 IMG spots were initially offered. The numbers can change during the match though, and while not explicitly reported as final quota per discipline per university, they do post the number that match as well as vacancies, and we can infer from this data the quota. For instance for 2021, Table 27 shows the number of CMG that matched to each discipline at each school. (51 CMGs at UofT IM) and Table 28 shows the number of IMGs that matched to each discipline at each school (11 IMGs at UofT IM). We can then check Table 48 to see if there were any open spots after the first round (0 for Toronto IM), and we can therefore confirm that there were 51 CMG and 11 IMG spots offered in the first round of the match in 2021.

Unfortunately, while there is data showing number of applicants to a discipline as a whole, CaRMS does not publish data showing number of applicants for individual programs.
