Clapika25512
Currently, I'm working in a hospital in a management role. It is a very good job and I love the people here, but I do want to try for med school. I do realize that if I ask them for reference letter, their attitude toward me might change and they might be looking for replacement. I was wondering if it's a red flag to not include my current supervisor for my letter? (The supervisor is a well-respected doctor). Who did you use for your reference? I plan on using my gradschool supervisor, a postdoc I worked with during that time, and an ex-boss (I was a lab tech for a few months but we kept in touch). I'm worried that they're all academia and might not reflect well on me, but my volunteering was a while ago so the volunteering coordinator was not at that position anymore. Thank you for your time. Eudaimonia
I don't think they would ever consider why you DIDN'T pick someone for your reference letter. They only care that the letter can attest to your attributes and is written by someone appropriate. Some schools specify that they want someone academic and someone extracurricular.
