asdfaf
Hello, I have currently started second year in a three year med school, and am frankly quite worried about starting clerkship soon with lack of knowledge/ lack of clinical skills. Feels like I've wasted my whole preclerkship year not really taking enough initiative to study outside of class/OSCE material, which is totally my fault. I am wondering how I can best prepare for upcoming clerkship in two months time, (which I realize is not that much) and if things really will get easier as time goes on during clerkship, because right now I still feel quite uncomfortable with the adjustment from simulated SP sessions to real life patients. I am planning on applying to either family or IM, which I recognize are not the most competitive specialties, but still am very worried about being competent for clerkship and becoming a good doctor in general. Thanks
shikimate
- you can read some good books like First Aid for clerkship series, depending on your rotation schedule. - you can watch youtube videos for learning physical exam manuevers. - Step 2 CS and CK First Aid books are a good study aid overall, I'd say more high yield than most other books I've read. innocentius and asdfaf
