bltzyboo
Hello! I'm an attending US MD who did a fellowship in Child Psychiatry, which means I have done 5 years of residency (satisfying the 5 year Canadian requirement). Would I be able to practice in Canada? E.g. BC or AB What are the hoops I need to start jumping through to obtain the ability to practice? What are the differences between US psychiatry (e.g. salary, work-life)? bearded frog
Start by reaching out to the college of the province you want to work in, IE https://www.cpsbc.ca/registrants/current-registrants/registration-and-licensing and see if you meet the requirements, and if not, what you need to do. Salary and work-life is going to be pretty variable depending on where you practice and what your practice is like (ie outpt vs academic vs inpatient etc.)
