Why does it matter though, you should be focusing on applying to as many programs as you can, don't worry about the competition, knowing this information will tell you nothing.

For most borderline competitive and competitive programs in Canada, majority of medical students apply broadly, meaning that you will see very close to the same number of applicants applying to most schools. It doesn't matter what school they are coming from since the number of spots doesn't change. In the past when interviews were in person, you would typically see the same people over and over again.

Yeah agree with both above. I applied to all programs, I was under the impression due to covid and restrictions that a lot of programs will have a higher preference for home program students.
