uOttawa 2022 Waitlist Discussion

Hello everyone!

May 10th is fast approaching...

In the past, applicants who were waitlisted at Ottawa could get a rough idea of their waitlist position relative to others based on "timestamp" of their emails created. For example, the earlier their email was created, then the higher they are ranked.  (Ex. applicant A has a waitlist email created at 7:09:03 AM and applicant B has a waitlist email created at 7:33:05AM, then the applicant A is ranked higher).

I know we still have a week to go before the offers/waitlists emails go out (apparently Ottawa does not send rejection letters, although it could indicate "bad" waitlist by mentioning that you are unlikely to get an offer from the waitlist), but I thought I'd get the thread started early so that if we could compile some data early on, then we could at least have some general idea of our waitlist positions and plan our summer accordingly.

What time typically tomorrow May 10th offers or waitlist emails will start appearing?

Last year good waitlist emails came out around 9am, and bad waitlist around 9:30 or so. Offer emails came out around 7 or 8am. Check OMSAS for offer at 12am

I don't see an offer on OMSAS, guess it means waitlisted. I do see an offer from UofT with a TDR code, not sure what it means? Can't get any sleep. UOttawa is my first choice.

just got good waitlist email for FRENCH stream.

**make sure to Add the seconds of your email received to your time** seconds matter!!

Waitlisted for EN stream. Added to the spreadsheet to help with the compilation. Email created is 9:59:21. Good waitlist because no "bad" wording. Wish the best to everyone!

There was turnover in the admissions office this past year so the new people might hold-off sending offers in comparison to last year. Hang in there, it has to move eventually!

Yeah it’s weird. Usually in past year there were a few offers sent before the OMSAS accept deadline. Oh well we’re almost there!

I just got an email this morning letting me know I was next in line off the French waitlist!!! Second time applying so I am beyond excited!

That’s awesome! What do you mean by next in line? Does that mean you got accepted or just that you are next in line. What is your name on the spreadsheet

It means that if I was still interested they were going to send the offer email later that day (which they did). I'm anonymous2 in the list.
