Hi guys I’m in my third yr and I was wondering if there is a big difference between and 85 and 87 when applying.

It all depends on the number of people between these two scores when you are applying. If the range of IP applicants is 80-94 for example, with median at 86, then 86 would likely be assigned 15 out of the 30 percent. the more people between 85 and 86, the lower 85% will equate to on the z-score. Same goes to 87, if a lot of applicants are between 86 and 87, then 87 will equate to a higher score on the z-score. My guess would be that you are looking at a range of anywhere between 10 and 20% out of the 30% UAA weight for scores between 85 and 87. This is why interviews are really important as their weight is 50% for IP applicant and can really make up for lower GPA or MCAT.
