rzg2023
I am applying to Western's Occupational Therapy Program and I know that a requirement for Admission is to take the CASPer Test. Can anyone who has taken it last year or even previously comment on how to do well in it and prepare for it as well. Thank You
BKin.d
Don't think it matters a ton tbh. Lots of resources on YouTube about preparing for it out there. Choose any and you are probably fine. I did poorly on CASPer (2nd quartile) and still got accepted to Queen's and waitlisted at Western and McMaster. albertahopefulOT
I think more schools are starting to prioritize CASPer scores. Everyone I know in the current OT program at Western was in the top percentile. I personally didn't really follow any prep for it but basically they are trying to see how you analyze difficult situations. Showing that you can consider all the people's perspectives, thought processes, feelings etc. will help with getting a better score. It's not about you picking a position and defending it, that is part of it but showing this large picture understanding is very important. I did have a friend though that bought the CASPer prep packages and did well and doesn't regret it. Definitely practice doing the test beforehand as it may help you understand what you need to work on. Being a good and fast typer also does help.
