How can an Australian dentist do his specialty in USA?

Recommended Posts

Ive heard of this happening, but it is rare overall imo. Most programs require USA or Canadian dental degrees as you would be eligible for US licensure. Australian degrees are not eligible for US licensure and you would be considered a foreign graduate (ie. you would need at least two years of dental school in the US to satisfy their requirements).

To give yourself an idea of how common it is for internationals to match, you can check the NMS match rates for international applicants to residency programs.
