Cute medical students

I have been working in the hospital for the past little while (I'm a med student myself), and I've just begun to notice some of the cute fellow med students around in the hospital and my apartment (where a lot of us live).

Does anyone else notice this? There has always been the impression (I'm guilty of having this opinion too, before) that med students are generally nerdy looking and unattractive (physically).

Yeah don't make too many assumptions about med students before you get to O-week. I was quite surprised by some of my classmates. :)

Oh. . . but you might also want to watch playing the scene too hard. At UWO at least, it's a bit of a taboo to go after a classmate. Things have worked for some people, but not many. If you make it work, great. . . but don't forget med school classes tend to be tight-knit communities, with all of the good and BAD that entails, ie everyone knows everyone else's business. And if things get messy, don't forget you're spending the next four years in fairly close quarters with that person. . . ouch!

As always the wise UWOMED2005 puts out some good advice, oh well, only time will tell.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I was just having a conversation about good looking guys in med school with a friend of mine... I don't want to make any comments (good or bad) about the students I saw at the u of a since my identity isn't exactly hidden and I'll be going there next year... BUT, I will freely admit that I was blown away by the men at the U of C... The proportion of good-looking guys in that class was totally disproportionate to the rest of the population. Who knows why... anyway, I'm hoping that the U of C's med class has some sort of sport challenges(I think there's a hockey game between U of A/U of C in the fall) throughout the year... I wouldn't mind meeting some hot soon-to-be docs...

how do singleton med students find compatible partners? if you don't meet anyone in med school, when would you have the time to have a real relationship during residency? are there many single med students out there unable to find potential mates? i was watching the show "med students" and one of the med students was talking about how if she hasn't met anyone before residency started, she'd probably be single for the rest of her life.. any truth to this?

Taboo at Western?

Blah. You must have had an off year. There's typically an absurd amount of intraclass dating.

Which does, as you rightly point out, lead to crappiness all around.

I know that at a certain school *cough*, there's a large amount of not dating, but just people developing "with benefits" relationships. With a small class size, this is something which stirs up quite the rumor mill.

interesting tread!

beautiful people (or people who think they are) tend to be more self-confident, which is a quality medschools are looking for in their applicants. Obviously there are also people who don't care about their look or value much more other aspect of their personality. These people usually have a strong personality and selfconfidence!

But anyways beauty is very subjective!

Insightful and correct I think. I remember my friend remarking that at Queens one year the class was "all prom queens and jocks". (I am assuming prom queens and Jocks tend to be more goodlooking then the average population.)

Given some of the inappropriate tangents that this thread has wandered off into (which I've subsequently deleted), and the virtually guaranteed nature that this particular thread will head that direction again, I think this one has run its course.
