Guest dsDNA
Try Volunteer Vancouver... they have a really good site with lots of contacts. Link is: www.vancouver.volunteer.ca/ Under volunteer opportunities, click on "hospitals, health care and hospices." This gives you to a long list of organizations you can volunteer with. If you're interested in research, talk to some of your profs or TAs and see if they have space available in their labs. If not, ask if they know of anyone who needs help. They're generally pretty happy to help you out if they see that you're genuinely interested on learning more about their area of research.
