Guest isitover
hey! i'm wondering if anyone has gotten a 2nd round interview in the last couple of days, or if those went out a couple weeks ago and if i didn't get one by now that its too late to be getting one for 2nd round. I am in 4th year now, and i got one in 2nd year and in 3rd year, and my gpa went up this year, so i'm wondering why i wouldn't get one this year too. i really want to go to uofa, so i'm wondering if anyone has any info for me. Guest rgs
If you received an interview after your second and third years, you should definately get one this year. email the admissions office and find out for sure, because they probably made a mistake. Guest isitover
thanks for the support! i'll call them first thing on monday morning. i don't know too many people who applied to uofa, and that is why i thought i'd write and see if anybody in internet land had gotten a letter in the last couple of days. Guest shkelo
The best (and most sensitive) person to talk to about this is Marlene Healey (marlene.healey@ualberta.ca). She's the Admissions Officer for the U of A and extremely nice. Ask for her or send her a quick e-mail describing your situation. Be sure to mention that you received interviews in 2nd/3rd year and that you were surprised that you haven't been offered an interview yet for the 2nd round, especially in a year that you are the most competitive (i.e. degree-granting year, more positions, lower cutoffs, etc...) for a spot. BTW, this year's marks are not used in the cGPA calculations for 4th year students since interview offers are awarded before winter term marks are finalized (in Feb. and in mid April). It is technically not "over" until you receive the dreaded rejection letter, but I'd say you've still got a good chance at an interview!!!
