volunteer VS extracurricular

Volunteer work is work you do that you might have been paid for but weren't... ie tutoring, running day camp, serving/cooking food for homeless, etc.

Extracurriculars are things that you do for fun... ie playing sports, belonging to a club, playing piano, etc.

Aneliz,

so would that mean that volunteering at a hospital would therefore be considered extra-curricular. Most people typically put it in volunteering. What do you think?

thanks,
